Hello, thank you! Please use critical thinking, good grammar and do not plagiarized, thanks.

1. What type of selection measurement do you think is most important?

A seldom used but very desirable criterion measure is training proficiency, that is, a measure of employee performance immediately following the completion of a training program…validity generalization studies found that training proficiency demonstrated higher validities than the measures of job performance. The EEOC Uniform Guidelines explicitly state that training proficiency is legally permissible as a criterion measure. (Gatewood, Feild, & Barrick, p. 609) Training proficiency, being such a strong and recognized measurement helps eliminate any bias in selection and relies on repeatable behavior directly following training. The big keys to it’s validity are standardization and common measures across the board for all candidates. Lastly, measuring training proficiency offers a legitimate opportunity to development task mastery upon hiring.

Standardization and common measures in this sense would be best in a repetitive, task-driven job such as manufacturing or other production that allows for continuous, repetitious measurement of the same criteria.

2.What is the most practical issue you have learned from this course?

Looking back there are a couple issues that stuck out to me. One is looking at the court cases throughout the textbook, many of these things I could easily see happening by mistake, accidently discriminating against someone can happen even when you are trying not to. That is why it is important to standardize processes and pay attention to laws and regulations to ensure policies and hiring are legal. The next issue was creating the interview and test assessment questions, so they align with the skills you are looking for. I knew it was important to ensure you get a person that their KSAs match the position, but learned how much work goes into selecting the test, assessments, and measurements to make sure the right person is ultimately selected. I guess I never thought about all the behind the scene hard work that goes into the selection process.
