This assignment is to examine the way successful leaders view the job of the leader in the context of creating a vision, mission and strategic thinking within an organization. Use the two leaders from the list below.

Howard Schultz

Create a PowerPoint presentation using the Note section for the analysis.

Do extensive research on the two leaders with a focus on primary source material (interviews, speeches, legal documents, eyewitness accounts, statistical data, and audio or video recordings).

The research should focus on gaining an understanding of the two leader’s perspective on leadership and the job of the leader.

Create a PowerPoint presentation that describes how each leader views the job of a leader today. The presentation must include the following points and must demonstrate a detailed analysis in the Note Section of the PowerPoint:

• Identify the leaders;
• Identify how each leader views the role of the leader;
• Discuss how the leader approaches vision and mission creation;
• Discuss how the leader seeks to implement the vision and mission within the business;
• Discuss and explain how the leader develops his or her organization to cultivate leaders and its talents;
• Explain how the two leaders use strategic thinking to arrive at decisions and create a future for the organization

The presentation should not include:

• A description of the companies they operate or why what they do is successful.
• What others say about the leader’s leadership skills and abilities!

Completing the Assignment

• Presentations should be no more than 15 slides that includes a title page and reference page;

• Use the grading rubric to complete the assignment;

• Third person writing is required. Third person means that there are no words such as “I, me, my, we, or us” (first person writing), nor is there use of “you or your” (second person writing).

• Contractions are not used in business writing, so you are expected NOT to use contractions in writing this assignment.

• Paraphrase rather than use direct quotes unless using primary source information.

• You are responsible for APA only for in-text citations and a reference list. The page or paragraph number must be provided. Even slides are cited.
